Initiative to cultivate Innovation and different thinking in preschool education

Launch of an initiative to cultivate innovative different thinking in kids, starting with preschoolers, aiming to grow a generation of visionaries able

of dreaming up and executing the kind of breakthroughs that will one day save their generation from extinction.

Motivation:

• The world economy is based exclusively on growth. However, growth will most likely end in the next generation.
• The limits to growth are:
• Ecological
• resource scarcity
• climate change
• biodiversity loss
• The contributing factors are:
• Gap between rich and poor
• Economic system and culture
• overpopulation
• consumerism
• built in obsolescence and the unknown ‘known’ that we choose not to know … wars, massacres, political manipulation etc.

Key strategic elements:

• Different thinking
• Creative thinking
• Moral thinking
• Trial and error
• Leveraging randomness
• Flexibility and direction changes
• Focus on cultivation rather than teaching
• Inspire the kids to learn rather than teach them
• Start with a blank page
